It’s 2008 in Melbourne, Australia, and five musicians have formed Beaches. The same year they release their self-titled debut album. Several of the five members have experience and maturity from their continuing work as part of other bands, and it shows. Their second album, She Beats, was an international hit in 2013 and pinned them firmly on the map.
Their third album, Second of Spring (2017), is a delicious blend of psych-rock and shoegaze, solidifying the sounds formed in their previous work. With seventeen tracks, this double album clocks up the minutes of accessible guitar heavy riffs, echoey harmonised vocals and driven drum beats, with a revival of that classic early 90’s sound.
